CONCEPT:

The concept of the music video is to make is seem old fashioned and washed out, this would help to display the washed out emotions that are portrayed within the song and would also help to show the songs 'heartbreak' theme by including many powerful close up shots. The first introductory shot will be a one-take which will make the audience feel more comfortable watching the video as there are minimal cuts to be focusing on.

VISUAL ASPECT OF VIDEO:

The video will be shot as if it were a VHS camera and the editing will show VHS-like overlays and effects, the shots will have artificial noise to make the image seem grainy to make it look retro. There will also be flickers and cuts to make it seem like its old-fashioned too. There will be many jump-cuts but a few flowing cuts and camera movement transitions to make the video more pleasing to the eye.

ARTIST REPRESENTATION:

The artist will be represented in a sad way to emphasise the emotions that are being told within the lyrics of the song. There will also be stages where the character is staying still and looking into the distance which shows a form of regret from the artist as well as despair.

COSTUME:

The costume that the artist will wear will have bright colours that will be in contrast with the dark-grey scenery. This shows that there is an external and internal conflict happening with one being explained by the song and the other being explained by the filming and editing.

LOCATIONS:
  • CHALK PITS
  • CASTLE HILL
  • GUIDED BUSWAY
  • JESUS GREEN
  • GRAFTON CENTER CAR-PARK
  • ABANDONED ROAD
  • HOUSE
FILMING PLAN:

We will have some scenes that flow into each-other well as the camera follows the artist as he turns on each beat. We will also have some panning shots that go around the character which will be shown similarly in 4 different locations and will be done continuously to catch the audiences attention. There will also be some cuts where the movement of the artist is the same so that the shot flows from one to another with relative ease.
